I Have No Kobo Investment In Lekki Toll Gate - Tinubu

I Have No Kobo Investment In Lekki Toll Gate - Tinubu

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, said that he will never be involved in "any carnage", adding that he has no investment in the Lekki toll gate.

This is coming on the heels of reports that #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki toll gate were shot at by security operatives.

Speaking on Channels TV, Tinubu denied having any hands in the horrific events of Tuesday evening.

Soldiers Killing Protesters

Although the allegation has been denied by the Nigerian Army, there were reports, replete with video evidence, showing officers of the Nigerian Army opening fire on protesters.

Responding to the killings of protesters by soldiers, Tinubu questioned, "Why will they use live bullets?"

“I will never, never be part of any carnage. I will never be part of that.”

On Lekki Toll Gate

The APC leader said that he had no "investment" in the toll gate, distancing himself from any personal interest in the securing of business along that route.

He said, "I have no dime, no kobo investment in the tollgate".

He continued, “We are about 13 to 14 days into the protests now. Before now, I was being accused and reported to the Presidency that I was behind the protests, that I was a sponsor of the protests.

“That was why he (Sanwo-Olu) set up the Judicial Commission of Inquiry. The governor has gone to the home of one of the victims to appeal to them.

“He has put N200m together as part of restitution and compensation for those attacked.”
