Nigerian singer and songwriter Omah Lay has revealed that his debut album, ‘Boy Alone’, taught him discipline.
The musician made the disclosure in a recent interview where he talked about his personal growth and his music career.
According to Omah Lay, he has always been a disciplined person with a mature mind, but writing and recording his album took his discipline to a whole new level.
“I’m a very disciplined person. I have a life and a mind that is way grown.
“I think I’m an old soul too. Most importantly, I’m a very disciplined person.
"I say I do this and I do it. I say I don’t do this and I never do that.
“While I was writing ‘Boy Alone’, I learnt discipline. I learnt a lot while I was writing my album,” he said.
He described the period when he was working on ‘Boy Alone’ as a make-or-break moment in his life.
Omah Lay added that he learned a lot while working on the album and grew up so much in the process.
“I think I was in a state of make or break while I was writing ‘Boy Alone’. It is either I lose it completely or I find myself.
“I think writing this album kind of taught me so much. I learnt a lot. I grew up so much while writing the album.
“I think I’ve always had that in me, but this album brought a whole lot of it out,” he said.
