‘I’m Ashamed Of Those Stupid Tweets’, Peruzzi Apologises Over Comments 'Glorifying' Rape

Nigerian singer, Peruzzi, has defended his old posts where he 'glorified' rape in the past years.

AllNews reports that a lady came out on Wednesday to accuse Peruzzi of raping her in the past. The lady, in a series of tweets, recounted how she accompanied a friend to visit the singer but ended up being raped in 2012.

Jayamah22 aka Princess' story caught the attention of Twitter users, as this is the second time in 6 months when the “Majesty” crooner will be accused of rape. 

Some Twitter users who came across the new lady’s post subsequently dug out a series of tweets where he “saw rape as a norm”.

Reacting to the old tweets in an open letter shared on his Instagram page, Peruzzi said the tweets were posted when he was younger and didn't know the implications of what he posted.

He, however, apologised for the "stupid and insensitive" comments, just as he sympatised with victims of rape.
