Nigerian Disc Jockey and billionaire heiress, DJ Cuppy, is celebrating with her little brother, Fewa Otedola, as he clocks 21 today.
Via Instagram, Cuppy shared a photo she took with Fewa and referred to him as a God-given gift. She said that she is so proud of the man he is becoming and there is no shame in suffering from severe autism.
She captioned the goofy picture, “My baby brother Fewa is 21 today! So proud of the man he’s becoming. Yes, he has severe AUTISM but there is absolutely no shame in being on the spectrum. He is my God-given gift. LOVE YOU SO MUCH!”
Fewa Otedola is the only son and last of the four children of Nigeria's business magnate and billionaire, Femi Otedola. Little is known of him but for the fact that he was born on June 2, 2001, and is suffering from a developmental disorder called autism.
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a complex developmental condition that involves persistent challenges in social interaction, speech and nonverbal communication, and restricted/repetitive behaviors.
Fewa and Temi OtedolaDespite his condition, his sisters - DJ Cuppy, Temi, and Tolani Otedola - do never stop flaunting their brother and showing the world the sibling connection they have.
On April 2nd, 2017 (World Autism Awareness Day), Temi Otedola wrote about her brother and revealed that Fewa needed steady care via her fashion blog, JTO.
"However, the role of an older sister to an autistic sibling is a great deal more work. At first, it seemed like every day with him was a challenge, especially for my mother. I remember seeing my mum helping Fewa with simple tasks like brushing his teeth, helping him to get dressed, or feeding him lunch, with each day ultimately ending in exhaustion. Our family has been so blessed to have help from carers, but no one can deny the resilience my mother has had raising Fewa. It is the thing I most respect about her.
The Otedola FamilyEvery day, I see him becoming more independent. Our relationship is becoming less one-sided; I can truly say that we are friends. Fewa doesn’t need anyone’s sympathy. He is the most genuine and caring person I know."
