I'm Rashford's Real Father - Ex-Ghana Footballer

I'm Rashford's Real Father - Ex-Ghana Footballer

A former Ghanaian footballer, Michael Boye Marquaye, claims he is the biological father of Manchester United star, Marcus Rashford.

AllNews reports that the 65-year-old UK-based retired athlete made this sensational claim in a recent interview with Ghanaian radio station Starr FM, ghanasoccernet.com claims.

Rashford, 22, was born in Wythenshawe, Manchester, and is of Kittitian descent.

The exciting forward began playing football for Fletcher Moss Rangers at the age of five and joined the academy system at Manchester United at the age of seven.

It is unclear why the sexagenarian has remained silent all these years. However, he insists he is not making this revelation for monetary purposes.

According to him, he only "wants to set the record straight that Rashford has Ghanaian roots."

Rashford is said to have little contact with Robert, his known dad - unlike his mum. His dad's name is not even on his birth certificate, according to lifebogger.com.

The England international's mother's name is Melanie Rashford.

Rashford and the rest of the Manchester United squad are currently preparing for the Premier League to return on June 17.
