Ibra Welcomes Mandzukic Ahead Of Milan Move

AC Milan's talisman Zlatan Ibrahimovic has openly welcome Mario Mandzukic ahead of his move to the San Siro stadium, hoping both will form an attacking duo to lift Milan to their first Scudetto since 2011.

Zlatan 39, joined Milan from LA Galaxy in January 2020 - since joining he has scored 22 goals for the Serie A side.

The transfer was the second spell of Ibra at Milan after in he completed a 24M euros move from Barcelona in 2011.

Unlike most strikers especially aged ones that would see the purchase of another striker - when younger as a replacement, Zlatan has welcomed Mandzukic with open hands

Ibrahimovic made the announcement himself when he said: “Mario Mandzukic has signed his contract, he’s joining AC Milan... so we’ll be in two to scare the opponents!”

His latter comment on the Croatian points to some similarity in the two rather tall and gigantic players' figure and style of play as they always torment defenders forcing a goal out of nothing.

Mandzukic is also familiar with the Serie A football as he was formerly Juventus point man for over 4 seasons joining from Atletico Madrid.

He will sign a 6-month deal with an option of another year extension till 2022.

Milan is currently Serie A leaders with three points ahead of local city rival Inter Milan - both Milan teams are chasing their first Scudetto in over 8 years as Juventus has rather dominated the Italian football.
