Turkish football giants Galatasaray secured their 23rd league title in emphatic fashion on Tuesday, defeating Ankaragucu 4-1 in their penultimate match of the season.

The triumph marks Galatasaray's first league championship since the 2018-19 campaign, igniting celebrations among their passionate fanbase.

Galatasaray wasted no time in asserting their dominance as Mauro Icardi opened the scoring in the seventh minute, displaying his clinical finishing skills. However, Ankaragucu's Milson swiftly responded, equalizing just nine minutes later to keep the contest alive.

Undeterred, Icardi swiftly restored Galatasaray's advantage five minutes before halftime, showcasing his prowess in front of goal once again. The Argentine striker's brace proved pivotal in the title-clinching victory.

In the second half, Galatasaray continued their attacking onslaught. Baris Alper Yilmaz found the back of the net in the 73rd minute, further extending their lead and inching them closer to the coveted title. The win was sealed in the 78th minute when Sergio Oliveira contributed a goal to the scoreline, cementing Galatasaray's dominance on the night.

With this resounding victory, Galatasaray propelled themselves to a total of 82 points in the league table, establishing an impressive five-point lead over their closest rivals, Fenerbahce, who secured the second-place finish.

As the season comes to a close, Galatasaray can bask in the glory of their well-deserved victory, relishing their status as the kings of Turkish football once again.
