Idumota Mayhem: MC Oluomo Distance Self From Kunle Poly, Tafa Sego Arrest

The Lagos State chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo has distanced himself from the rift between Kunle Poly and Tafa Sego.

Recall that heavy crisis rocked factions of the transport union in the Idumota area of Lagos Island on Thursday, January 20, 2022.

The two factions – Eyo boys, reportedly loyal to Kunle Poly, and Kosoko boys – have been at loggerheads over control of territory in Idumota.

On Monday, January 24, 2022, the Lagos State Rapid Response Squad (RRS) arrested Kunle Lawal popularly known as Kunle Poly, and Mustapha Adekunle popularly known as Tafa Sego

Reacting to the arrest, Oluomo in an interview with GoldmyneTV said it was the duty of the branch chairmen to report disturbances at their branches to the state headquarters but he never got any such report regarding Idumota, Lagos Island.

“Kunle is a branch chairman and I’m the state chairman of the NURTW. Whatever happens at the branch level, he is expected to write a letter informing the state headquarters of the development.

"But I didn’t see any letter. Unless I get a complaint from the branch chairman, I wouldn’t know what happened on Lagos Island.

“Someone that we didn’t see, we couldn’t even call because he had switched off his phone. We didn’t know his whereabouts. I told the police to investigate the matter and arrest the culprits. That’s all I know on this matter”, he said.
