'If You Are Asleep After 7:00 am On Monday, You Are Rich' — Naira Marley

'If You Are Asleep After 7:00 am On Monday, You Are Rich'

Nigerian singer Azeez Fashola a.k.a. Naira Marley has said that people who sleep after 7:00 am on a Monday morning do not need anybody.

Taking to his Instagram Instastory at 6:49 am on Monday, the singer stated that only rich people are still asleep at that time.

“If you're still sleeping right now you don't need nobody. You must be rich already,” he wrote.

Shortly after the release of his explicit new single 'Coming' featuring South African singer Busiswa in March, it got banned barely 24 hours later by the Nigeria Broadcasting Communication (NBC) because of the explicit lyrics it contains.

Taking to Twitter to react to the sudden ban of the song despite the notice that it was rated 18, the 29-year-old wrote; “Wait they banned my song (coming) already? Haaa”

In another tweet, the “Soapy” crooner wrote; “Oh it’s not banned yh? Okay I’m #COMING let me fvck shii upppp”

Naira Marley also said that there was no way the lyrics of the song could be censored as any attempt would end up with just beats as almost all the lyrics are vulgar.

However, when the song which Nigerians bashed him for topped Audiomack and Apple Music, Naira Marley called out Nigerians on their supposed hypocrisy.
