Traditional leaders and religious leaders in the South East have expressed their concern over the continuous killings and incessant conflict in Imo State.
They expressed their worry over the worsening situation in a statement signed by the Obi of Onitsha and the Methodist Archbishop of Umuahia, Chibuzo Opoko.
In the statement, the traditional rulers warned Imo politicians to desist from acts which could lead to violence and save the state
The leaders regretted that Imo State has now been turned to a war zone. They equally condemned the arrest of Uche Nwosu, a former Governorship candidate of Imo state.
The leaders further called for a peace meeting between Governor Hope Uzodimma, past governors and elders of the state.
