The Inspector General of Police, IPG Mohammed Adamu, has assured Nigerians that the Police is committed to safely bringing back of all hostages.
The IGP's pledge is about the recent attack on Government Science College, Kagara in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State and other related incidents.
The Police boss in a statement on Thursday, disclosed that a joint massive search and rescue mission involving the Police, the Military, and other law enforcement agencies were ongoing to ensure that the abductees were rescued unhurt and reunited with their families.
In his efforts, Adamu has ordered the deployment of additional tactical, intelligence and investigative assets of the Forces. This included four units of Police Mobile Force (OMF) attached to Operation Puff Adder II, one Unit of Police Special Forces, the Counter-Terrorism Unit Personnel and operatives from the Force Intelligence Bureau and the Criminal Investigation Department. Also included in one Police aerial surveillance helicopter.

The Niger State Commissioner of Police was coordinating the police component of the search and rescue operation. He was to harness all the deployed resources and work in sync with the Military and other law enforcement agents in ensuring an intelligence-driven, focused, and result-oriented operations as well as bringing the perpetrator to book.
The IGP called for calm and enjoined members of the community to provide the police and the security community with useful and relevant information that can assist in the ongoing search and rescue mission.
