IGP Baba Issues Fresh Update On Police Salary Increment

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba, has issued a fresh update on personnel nationwide on the issue of salary increment.

The IGP stated that President Muhammadu Buhari already approved the implementation and that it will soon take effect.

Deputy Inspector-General of Police (Research & Planning and Supervising) Johnson Babatunde conveyed Baba’s assurance on Wednesday in Lagos.

Kokumo disclosed that relevant federal government personnel were working on the payment and had reached final stages of computation of emolument details.

He listed the National Salaries, Income and Wages Commission, Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) and the Ministry of Police Affairs.

The DIG further disclosed that the issue of promotion is being looked into to ensure deserving officers and men get elevated accordingly.

Lagos Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi thanked IGP for allaying the fears and doubts of personnel and pledged a renewed dedication to duty.
