The Governor of Abia State, Chief Okezie Ikpeazu, has presented staffs of office to 31 Ezes-elect of communities in the state.
The staffs of office were presented to the Royal Fathers at the Michael Okpara auditorium, Abia State.
He charged them to maintain peace and protect the cultural values of their domains.
Ikpeazu was represented by his Deputy, Ude Oko Chukwu.
He said they are now duly recognized, having passed through every of the required process.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Christopher Enweremadu, who advised the new Ezes to always maintain peace and order in their various communities.
He commended Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for running the affairs of the State even at the tail end of his administration.
One of the monarchs, the traditional ruler of Ugwu Nkpa autonomous community in Bende LGA, Eze Princewill Onyegbu thanked the governor for recognition done them with the presentation of Staff of Office and promised that their various domains will enjoy a reign of peace and progress.
