I'll Re-Contest Imo Governorship In 2024 - Ihedioha

Former Imo Governor Emeka Ihedioha has declared that he will re-contest the Imo Governorship position in 2024.

Ihedioha who made his intention known at All St. Anglican Cathedral, Egbu at the weekend during a meeting of Leaders of Thought in Imo East Senatorial zone said that his eyes were firmly focused on the governorship of Imo like playing soccer with opponents in a football field.

“While playing soccer, you don’t look at the person dribbling, you keep your eyes on the ball.

"The ball in this case is the Governorship of Imo State and our eyes will firmly remain there. If they want, they should dribble up and down, our eyes remain on the ball,’’ he stressed.

“I will serve you more and more. I will not come for the campaign, all campaign has already been done.

"But I want to assure you that I will remain faithfully committed to the appeals of our people, whatever it is I am known for I will keep faith with it.

"I cannot learn to use the left hand at old age. Stealing is never in our lineage or DNA, hope you all know?

“I will not be the one to start the stealing. All I know is a good character, doing good to the greater good of the masses, the proletariat.

"I will continue to maintain the tenets of democracy that stands us out. When you gave me the opportunity and made me your governor, I did not disappoint you.

“From the conception and planning stages to the execution stages, I want to assure you that all good works we started will be completed by the grace of God.

"The one in the future is greater. These are challenging and tough times, but with God on our side, we shall conquer.

"Those who cheated us now have their faces buried in shame. You all shouldn’t worry much, the Almighty God that we worship remains there for us. What they want is for us to lose faith but I urge you all not to lose faith.

“Remain faithful, remain steadfast, keep your eyes on the ball. While playing soccer, you don’t look at the person dribbling, you keep your eyes on the ball."
