I'm christian — Spyro reacts to performance at Harvesters

Nigerian artist Oludipe David, known as Spyro, has reacted to the controversies arising from the Christmas carol service held at the Harvesters International Gospel Center in Lagos State last Sunday.

Following a viral video where Spyro performed his hit track, "Only Fine Girl," as part of a dramatic presentation at the church, the singer faced criticism as many disapproved of his involvement in the event.

The lead preacher at Harvesters International Christian Center, Pastor Bolaji Idowu, also came under fire for involving Spyro and celebrities in the service.

According to the event flyer, the church had invited celebrities like Daniel Effiong, Bisola Ayeola, Dorathy Bachor, Sharon Ooja, Uzor Arukwe, Adeh Gbolahan, and Kenneth Ophopho to the carol service.

Reacting to the controversy on Twitter, Spyro clarified that he has been a member of the church for over seven years and has served in two departments.

He wrote: "Just saw myself and pastor B has been getting dragged because I did a drama ministration I’m church Let me make something’s very clear!!

"1. I’ve been a member of Harvesters for well over 7 years, and I serve in two departments 2. The clip making rounds on social media is off a drama I took part of at our annual carol service called Fantasia

"3. The Carol was completely FREE for all. The tickets were free!

"4. Because I am a celebrity doesn’t make me human?? I can serve God like the rest of you naw l So pls understand that I am Human, a Christian and I serve in a real church!!! T for thanks
