Imo: Buhari Condemns Killing Of Traditional Ruler, Orders In

President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the killing of Eze Ignitus Asor, the traditional ruler of the Obudi-Agwa community in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State.

The traditional ruler was shot dead by suspected gunmen on Monday.

In a terse statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the President, Garba Shehu on Tuesday, Buhari condemned the act in strong terms.

He also ordered security agencies to swing into action to unravel the root cause.

“The President has directed security agencies in the State to thoroughly investigate the dastardly act and ensure that the perpetrators face the full wrath of the law,” Shehu noted in the statement to the media.

The presidency also quoted Buhari as commiserating with family, friends, the Obudi-Agwa community, as well as all those affected by the attacks.

He prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured while acknowledging the spirited efforts by the Imo State Government at improving the security situation.

Buhari also admonished all Imo residents and citizens to robustly support the collective efforts of state actors and members of the local community to keep everyone safe.
