Imo: Gunmen Invade Court, Burn Documents

The Imo State High Court in the Orlu Local Government Area of the state was invaded by gunmen on Saturday.

It was revealed that the hoodlums burnt sensitive documents in the court complex housing comprising both the high court and a magistrates’ court.

One of the clerical workers of the court who pleaded anonymity disclosed that no sensitive file in the building was spared.

“All the sensitive files in the building were burnt”, the source shared.

The incident was confirmed by the Orlu Branch Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Barnabas Munonye, who called it "unfortunate".

He stated that he was informed of the development by the administrative secretary of the association early on Saturday morning.

Speaking on the incident, the Imo State Police Command, CSP Mike Abattam, said an investigation had been launched to get to the bottom of it.
