India's Single Day Coronavirus Cases Sets World Record

India has reported the highest ever single-day coronavirus cases, with a total of 78,761 cases in the span of 24 hours.

The previous record was held by the United States, recording 77,299 cases in July.

There are 3.54 million coronavirus cases in India, falling a place behind Brazil with just 250,000 cases less than the South American country that has a total of 3.8 million cases.

Globally, the United States still holds the record for the most coronavirus cases with nearly six million cases.

On Sunday, the US logged a total of 6,173,236 cases, with 187,000 fatalities.

India's death toll stands at 63,498, while Brazil recorded 120,896 fatalities.
