British number one Cameron Norrie is through to the quarter-finals of the Indian Wells Masters event.
Norrie sealed a straight-set victory over Russian Andrey Rublev in the fourth round by winning 6-2, 6-4 in the California desert.
The Briton who had issues with his serve early on had to dig deep for a strategy to see off his opponent who once knocked him out in the last 16 of the 2022 US Open.
He converted all five of his break points to emerge victorious, squaring his ATP Head2Head series against the 25-year-old at 2-2.
"Andrey is not an easy guy to beat, so I was really pleased to come through in straight sets," said the 27-year-old who is the first British man to win the Indian Wells back in 2021.
"Off the ground, I was rock solid. It was a little cooler today so I felt like I had more time on the ball.
"I played well in the big moments."
Norrie will now face either Frances Tiafoe or Alejandro Tabilo in the last eight.
