Gianni Infantino
Gianni Infantino is set to be re-elected as the president of FIFA for a third term during the organization's annual congress in Kigali, Rwanda.
Infantino was unexpectedly elected in 2016 after Sepp Blatter resigned in the wake of the scandal.
While his time as president has been controversial, Infantino has overseen the expansion of the men's World Cup from 32 to 48 teams and increased financial results.
He is also pushing for an expanded Club World Cup.
Despite opposition from European opponents, Infantino is expected to be re-elected, as long as he continues to have the support of Central American and African federations.
The World Leagues Forum has criticized Infantino's plans for the Club World Cup, which will put further strain on an already overloaded calendar.
