Uduak Akpan, the killer of Iniubong Umoren, a graduate of Philosophy has been setenced to death by hanging.

Umoren was murdered while she went job-hunting in Akwa Ibom in April 2021.

Two days prior to when she was declared missing, the deceased, a graduate of Philosophy from the University of Uyo, had announced on Twitter that she was seeking a job.

The deceased’s friend, Uduak, had on 29 April posted a tweet, declaring that Iniubong had made a distress call to her, suspecting that her friend had been kidnapped while going to attend a job interview at Airport Road, Uyo.

In a judgement on Thursday at the Akwa Ibom State High Court, Justice Bassey Nkanang, however, discharged and acquitted Frank Akpan and Anwan-Bassey Akpan the second and third accused persons.

Uduak Akpan was found guilty of rape and murder and sentenced to be hung on the neck until he dies.
