Insecurity: Lawmakers Behind Buhari's Invitation Should Expect EFCC - Fayose

Insecurity: Lawmakers Behind Buhari's Invitation Should Expe

A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former governor of Ekiti State Ayo Fayose has told the lawmakers behind the invitation of President Muhammad Buhari over the increasing cases of Insecurity in the Northern part of Nigeria to expect invitation fro the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Fayose who was reacting to the recent move by the Nigerian senate to invite President Buhari over the growing spate of Insecurity in the Northern region said that the lawmakers who moved the motion for the President's invitation will be slammed with trumped-up corruption charges, and account freezing for attempting to work against the government of Buhari.

”I will be surprised if the President honours the House of Reps’ invitation. The National Assembly that is supposed to be representing the people should know by now that in the eyes of this president, they only exist on paper because they are mere toothless bulldogs.

“Some of those Rep members at the forefront of the invitation of the president to appear before the House should expect EFCC invitation, freezing of their accounts or arrest for plotting to bring down the legitimate government of the president. I warned,” Fayose wrote.

It will be recalled that the former Ekiti state governor was charged by the EFCC for alleged money-laundering during his re-election campaign in 2014.

The Senate during their plenary session on Tuesday demanded that President Buhari appear before it to answer questions on the growing spate of Insecurity in the region.

The lawmakers also requested that Buhari sack his service chiefs who they believed have failed in their duty to secure the nation.
