Insecurity: Christmas Ruined For Kaura Residents As They Bury Loved Ones

Insecurity: Christmas Ruined For Kaura Residents As They Bur

The festive season for Christians across the globe isn't going to be joyous at all for victims of terrorism in Kaduna state as gun-wielding men continue to attack communities, kidnapping, injuring and killing innocent civilians.

On Thursday, residents of Mallagum and Sogwon in Kaduna buried 27 out of 37 persons killed by bandits.

Mourners were seen in tears, wondering why the lives of their loved ones had to be cut short for doing absolutely nothing and why the Nigerian government has failed to save anyone of them.

Women, children and the aged alongside other sympathisers were seen at Government Secondary School watching helplessly as their loved ones were being laid to rest.

The Anglican Bishop of Kafanchan Diocese, Danladi Kundi led the burial after a prayer session led by the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese.

Bandits had on Tuesday attacked the two villages in Kaura local government, killed a number of residents, and burnt down houses, foodstuffs and properties worth millions of naira.

A resident, Kismet Yakubu Adams, told Daily Trust that not all the people killed were buried yesterday.
