Insecurity: FG, Nigerians laud troops' achievements in the

The Nigerian Army has affirmed that the federal government and Nigerians have recognized their achievements in the fight against insurgents in the Northeast, Northwest and parts of Niger State.

The army said insurgents have been dislodged from their various strongholds in the regions, adding that the war against insurgents has progressed effectively and steadily.

Major General Kevin Aligbe, the Commander, Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) of the Nigerian Army disclosed this during the 2023 West African Social Activities (WASA) in Minna.

He said: “These achievements and successes have been widely recognised by the Federal Government and well-meaning Nigerians and even the international community."

He added that the TRADOC and 31 Brigade have been instrumental to the success stories of troops of the Northeast Operation Hadin Kai and the Northwest Operation Hadarin Daji.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Aligbe said in spite of these achievements, there was still security threat in the country, particularly in Niger, as terrorists had spread to some parts of the state carrying out dastardly acts.

He said troops of TRADOC, 31 Artillery Brigade, Nigerian Airforce, Defence Headquarters Special Operations Force and 18 Brigade had been carrying out operations on ISIS within the state, with tremendous results.

He further urged the military and the public to remain vigilant of the activities of criminals around them

Aligbe equally appreciated the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja for his continuous support that led to the successes recorded.
