Insecurity: Security Agencies Have Enough Technical Help, Sa

Professor Ali Pantami, the minister of communications, has stated that the telecom industry has done fantastic work in offering enough Security Technical Support that will aid in reducing the numerous security difficulties in the nation.

During a Sunday inspection of the Kano finished 4 Tier second Data Center with 0.7 PetaByte capacity, Pantami said, “From the Digital Economy sector, our responsibility is to provide services and give support to security and we have over time done that effectively.

“Today we have sanitised the Sim Card Data, introduced the Policy of Nim and Sim Registration; this is to tell you that we have done very well in giving our mega support to the Nigeria security.

"Although I’m not even a member of the National Cyber Crime Council, which is at the office of the National Security Adviser, we still sanitised the system and provided facilities for security institutions to leverage on and be successful.

“I’m sure we have done what we are supposed to do effectively and I have no doubt that if our interventions are used, they will greatly address security situations in the country”.

According to him, President Muhammadu Buhari started the fourth-tier Data Center with a 0.7 PetaByte Capacity, which is being built by Nation Galaxy Backbone Ltd and would offer ICT services to Nigerian citizens as well as legal procedures.

He claimed that the first National Information and Communication Technology Infrastructure backbone, which spanned all of the Southern States, was put in place by the previous administrations.

However, the second Data Center will cover the entire Northern Region.
