The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, has stated that President Muhammadu Buhari's administration has dislodged the terrorists holding territories in some local government areas in Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe states.
Aregbesola made the declaration in Abuja on Tuesday during the fourth edition of the federal government’s scorecard series.
While stating that the country's security challenges persist, he added that there is no nation with issues.
“The insurgents in 2015 were holding territories in some local government areas in Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe states.
“But as we speak, they have been dislodged. Although there are challenges here and there, there is no nation without challenges”, the minister noted.
Aregbesola previously provided an update on the ongoing investigation into the attack on the Kuje Correctional Centre in July.
He explained that the result of the probe would not be made public because it is a “security document”.
