Insurgency: Zulum announces cash, food donation to CJTF, oth

Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum has announced cash, and food donation to volunteers fighting Boko Haram insurgency alongside the Nigerian military in Bama Local Government Area of the state.

The governor announced the package, including rice, and maize grain for volunteers totalling 810, including Civilian Joint Taskforce (CJTF) in the area.

He further stated that the government's support was to show gratitude to the volunteers and other security agencies sacrificing to restore peace in the state.

Zulum made the announcement while addressing the leadership and members of the volunteers at the premises of the Shehu of Bama, Umar Ibn Shehu Kyari Ibn Umar Elkanemi, on Monday.

He further appreciated the volunteers for their sacrifices in restoring peace to the region, and assured of continuous government support.

The Governor partly said: “We are aware of the enormous efforts you put into complementing the military in the fight against insurgency and other forms of criminality. We commend you and urge you to continue to be dedicated.

“The government of Borno State will never relent in extending support to you. 

"Your welfare is of high priority to us, we will not leave you. Be assured that the government will always be with you.”
