Inter's New EPL Stars, Lukaku And Eriksen, Knock Getafe Out Of Europa League

Inter Milan defeated Getafe in the round of 16 after Romelu Lukaku and Christian Eriksen scored, to finish the game 2-0 at the VELTINS Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. Conte's men were organized and better in form than their Madrid counterparts, dumping them out of the Europa League to progress to the quarter-final stage of the competition.

The two goals were scored at separate halves of the match, the first goal was scored 33 minutes into the first half when Bastoni sent a long ball from the Inter's half to fall into the path of Romelu Lukaku, he had to shrug off his marker before unleashing a one time volley into the net from the left to right side of the net. David, the Getafe goalkeeper stood no chance. It was a wonderful goal from the 27-year old Belgian international. The strike took his overall goal to 30 for this season, the first of many in the Internazionale jersey. Inter 1-0 Getafe.

The second goal did not come very soon, a couple of chances were lost in the match both from Getafe and Inter. Getafe came close to leveling the score when the VAR review gave them a penalty. Molina placed the shot just too much to the left to see the outside of the net. Handanovic would have saved it also with the goalkeeper diving left to try and parry it.

Just before 90 mins, a lovely run from D'Ambrosio from the right flank opened the Getafe defense, he sent a cross in but was deflected back by Getafe's No. 2, Dakonam into the path of Christian Eriksen who just came in 2 mins ago for Brozovic, he placed a one-time shot into the roof, off the hand of the goalkeeper to take the score to 2-0.

It was a very good match from the Nerazzurri, they progress to the next phase of the competition and are in contention to win if they do not slow down.
