Inuwa Yahaya Partners MTN To Improve Healthcare

The governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has partnered with the Telecom giant - MTN to improve healthcare delivery.

The partnership came with the inauguration of a mobile health clinic to meet up with the demand for health services.

At the inauguration ceremony, Yahaya said the partnership was eminent to cater for the health sector which has been challenged by people's demand.

He added that his administration is open to any idea that would cushion effects of hardship on the people of the state.

While assuring his administration's support, the governor appreciated MTN's efforts towards improving livelihood in the state through the collaboration.

Speaking at the event, the commissioner for health, Dr Habu Dahiru stated that the mobile clinic would be beneficial to both rural and semi-urban dwellers in accessing healthcare services.

He added that the mobile clinic comes with among many, free consultations for diabetes, malaria, hepatitis B and HIV.

He stated that, “ee drugs will be dispensed to deserving patients while counselling referral services will be available for those that will need further care."

The Senior Lead, Sales and Trade Development for MTN in Gombe state, Harrison Thliza expressed that the collaboration is a response to some of the biggest problems in the state.

While stating that the mobile clinic will administer COVID-19 vaccination, he added that “This mobile medical outreach will focus on the treatment of diarrhoea, malaria, respiratory tract infections, screening for diabetes, HIV, hepatitis and general consultation services."
