Biafra political activist, Nnamdi Kanu has congratulated President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on their ascension to US presidency.
Both Democratic Party members were sworn into their posts in a ceremony on Wednesday.
Biden, 78, is now the 46th president of the United States. He previously served as vice president (from 2009 to 2017).
Taking to his known Twitter handle to wish the duo good luck, diaspora-based Kanu asked them to "remember those yearning for freedom in Africa".
"Congratulations to @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris," Kanu wrote.
"As you assume the mantle of leadership of the free world, remember those yearning for freedom in Africa. Best of luck."
