IPOB Expresses Hope Of Nnamdi Kanu's Release

IPOB Expresses Hope Of Nnamdi Kanu's Release

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has said that it is hopeful that the Supreme Court would set its leader, Nnamdi Kanu free.

This was contained in a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful on Sunday.

IPOB insisted that Kanu did not commit any offence.

The group urged Kanu's followers to be circumspective in their movement ahead of Kanu’s trial as the group’s enemies have alerted security agents to attack its members.

“It’s very important that we advise Biafrans, particularly those of us in the Southeast, to be circumspective in their movement these days as the case of Onyendu at the Supreme Court of Nigeria is coming up.

“It’s obvious that our enemies have already alerted their Security and Criminal Agents, who have started attacking people and security forces in the East to blackmail IPOB and ESN so as to pollute the minds of the Supreme Court Judges handling Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s case.

"We can assure all of them that their plans are dead on arrival.

“We, therefore, ask our people not to yield into the plans of our enemies but to remain calm, peaceful, and prayerful.

"Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has not committed any crime known to local or international laws but is being held illegally in DSS solitary confinement because of ethnic profiling and prejudice. He must be set free by the Supreme Court of Nigeria.”
