The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has stated that if elected president in 2023, he would dialogue with those seeking secession in the country.
Obi while speaking on Arise TV on Wednesday morning disclosed that he had observed how issues having to do with agitation were handled in other nations.
He said the agitation was borne out of poor leadership in Nigeria, which has been present in the country for some years now.
Commenting on if he supports the proscribed group, the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB), Obi clarified that he had never been involved in any agitation.
"I have never been in any agitation. I had said that the agitation is because of leadership failure over the years. I will engage them in dialogue if elected into power", he stated.
