Is Ganduje Seeking For Political Reconciliation In 2022?

Kano state Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje

Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje says 2022 should usher in a new era of peace and reconciliation among political parties’ stakeholders in the state and the country in general.

The Governor disclosed this in his New Year Message to people of the state which was issued by the state Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba, adding that the next few months should also be for internal democracy to flourish where political parties are expected to produce more credible representatives at various levels who have the capacity and ability to win elections and subsequently build on laudable programs and policies initiated by the past leaders

The Governor said Political icons in the state are emphasizing reconciliation because it is the wish of the people, adding that the reconciliation would advance the cause for proper development in the political terrain and the society at large.

Kano polity has taken a new dimension since 2016 when the former Governor, Rabi'u Musa Kwankwaso and Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje had a falling out.

Things were shaken up recently when Governor Ganduje lost two court cases within the APC fold.

The statement also noted concern over the issue of insecurity across the country in addition to the ravaging poverty as a result of the economic hardship in the country.

He, however, expressed optimism that the efforts of the Buhari-led Federal Government would soon solve the menace.

The Governor also assured that his administration, which the 2022 budget prioritizes the completion of projects, is determined to make things better for the people through its rural transformation as well as economic empowerment programmes.

While felicitating with the people on the New Year, Ganduje also called for unity and prayers for Nigeria and particularly for religious leaders to preach the message of peace, tolerance and harmonious relationship amidst the challenges.
