The National Chairman of Jama'atul Izalatul Bid'ah Wa Iqamatul Sunnah (JIBWIS) Nigeria, Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau is alive and well, Allnews reports.
Sahara Reporters had on Sunday claimed the renowned Islamic scholar died on Saturday night and was buried on Sunday morning according to Islamic rites.
But reacting to the news, Isa Ali Pantami, Nigeria's Minister of Communications and Digital Economy clarified on his verified Twitter handle that it is the burial of Shaykh Adam Muhammad Gashua, and not Sheikh Bala Lau.
Shaykh Bala Lau is healthy, safe and sound. Misinformation, please, Saharareporters. It was a burial of Shaykh Adam Muhammad Gashua. It will be an excellent idea, if you correct it, please. Best wishes https://t.co/grGoqE8sQq

In similar vein, Bashir Ahmad, President Muhammadu Buhari's Personal Assistant on New Media said he spoke with Sheikh Lau on phone on Sunday afternoon.
Just spoke with Sheikh Bala Lau on phone, he is alive, hale and hearty and so bitter about the wicked rumors of his death. What could possibly be Sahara Reporters’ source of the news that Sheikh Lau was dead today and social distancing protocol was violated at his funeral?
