Ishaku Applauds Troops For Sustaining Peace In Taraba

The governor of Taraba State, Darius Dickson Ishaku has attributed the peace enjoyed in the state to the sustained efforts of troops of the Nigerian Army.

The governor commended the efforts of the troops in flushing out criminals in the state.

Ishaku made this known on Friday when he received the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), Major General Abdulsalami Ibrahim at the Government House in Jalingo, the state's capital.

He explained that banditry and other forms of criminalities had been contained with the presence of troops across the state.

This was contained in a statement signed and made available by the Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, 3 Division, Lieutenant Colonel Ishaku Takwa today.

The governor further called on the people of the state to sustain the level of support and cooperation with security agencies to flush out the remaining criminal elements in the state.

He also presented a Certificate of Occupancy of the land donated by the state to the Nigerian Army for the construction of the Headquarters 6 Brigade.

Ishaku reaffirmed his commitment to providing the needed support to enhance the troops' operation across the state.

The governor noted that the speedy approval of the land was in recognition and appreciation of the commitment of troops to ensuring peace and security of the lives and properties of the people.

The commander who spoke earlier said the Nigerian Army will not rest until criminals are completely flushed out of the country.

He noted that development could only strive when there is peace.

He further appreciated governor Ishaku for his continuous support and collaboration with the troops.
