Israel Adesanya: Former UFC Champion Released Following Arre

Israel Adesanya has been released after his arrest at the John F. Kennedy Airport on Wednesday.

Per reports, the former UFC Champion was apprehended for taking brass knuckles through security at the aforementioned airport.

Speaking via a statement, Adesanya’s manager Tim Simpson of Paradigm Sports Management revealed that the Nigeria-born MMA fighter has been released and has been flown home to New Zealand.

“Israel was handed a gift by a fan, which he put in his luggage. When flagged at the airport, Israel quickly disposed of the item and cooperated with authorities.

“He has complied accordingly, with that the matter was dismissed and he is on his way home”, Simpson said.

Adesanya lost the UFC middleweight title to Alex Pereira in New York on Saturday after suffering a fifth-round knockout.
