Israeli air strike in Damascus kills 4 Iranian Military advi

Tensions in the Middle East escalated as the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed that four of its military advisers lost their lives in an Israeli air strike on a residential building in Damascus, Syria.

The incident, which occurred in the Mazzeh neighborhood, targeted an IRGC intelligence unit, according to a reliable source.

In a brief statement, the IRGC said an air strike by Israeli fighter jets killed “a number of Syrian forces and four military advisers”. It later identified the people killed as Hojjatollah Omidvar, Ali Aghazadeh, Hossein Mohammadi and Saied Karimi, without sharing their ranks.

The Israeli air strike reportedly aimed at an IRGC intelligence unit, resulting in the complete destruction of a four-storey building.

The strike comes amidst broader regional tensions, including the Israeli offensive on Gaza and frequent Israeli attacks on Iran-linked targets in Syria.

The region's complex power dynamics and intelligence wars have turned Syria into a battleground for both global and regional powers.
