World number one Iga Swiatek has moved into the quarter-finals of the Italian Open after a comfortable victory over Croatia's Donna Vekic on Tuesday.
The two-time French Open champion won 6-3 6-4 to extend her head-to-head record to 4-0 and set up a quarter-final clash with Elena Rybakina.
Swiatek faces a tough test against Wimbledon champion Rybakina who has beaten her the last two times they have met.
Her first defeat against Rybakina was recorded in the last 16 of the Australian Open this year as well as the Indian Wells semi-finals, both in straight sets.
"It's not going to be easy. She's in great shape this season," said Swiatek on playing Rybakina for the first time on clay this year.
It's going to be challenging but I'm ready for it.
"We'll see how it's going to go. I still feel really comfortable on clay so I hope it's going to be a nice match."
