Jack Dorsey, Elon Musk Hint at Bitcoin Debate

Jack Dorsey and Elon Musk, two of the most famous proponents of cryptocurrencies, have hinted that they will debate at a forthcoming bitcoin event.

In a Twitter exchange on Friday, Twitter founder Dorsey suggested having "THE talk," to which Tesla CEO Musk replied, "For the Bitcurious? Very well then, let's do it," followed by a wink emoji.

Dorsey had initially tweeted about "The ₿ Word," an event he is set to host on July 21 alongside Cathie Wood, the founder of Ark Investment Management.

Musk asked if that referred to "bicurious?," prompting Dorsey to suggest the two have a conversation at the event for the Tesla founder to "share all [his] curiosities."

The two tech billionaires are among the most famous proponents of cryptocurrency. However, Musk's bitcoin appetite has dwindled since May when he announced Tesla was reversing its decision to take payment in the crypto, citing environmental concerns about the energy use required in mining.

In other news, Elon Musk is toying with the cryptocurrency community once again. This time, the Tesla chief is sharing the love with Shiba Inu fans while poking the bitcoin crowd. He randomly proclaimed that his “Shiba Inu will be named Floki,” seemingly in reference to the shipbuilder character on the series Vikings.

The SHIB token is climbing higher by almost 9% and is doing this while the broader cryptocurrency market remains in the doldrums.

Musk, whose gripe against bitcoin is the energy consumption involved with mining, poked the bear, asking, “How many Bitcoin maxis does it take to screw in a lightbulb?”

His clever tweet attracted a slew of responses, including the bitcoin bull himself, Michael Saylor, who cleverly replied, “If you give us 10 minutes, maybe we can hash out the answer.” The 10-minute nod is in reference to the time it takes for a block to be verified on the Bitcoin blockchain and for miners to be rewarded.
