JAMB: Mmesoma Finally Admits 249 UTME Score

JAMB: Mmesoma Finally Admits 249 UTME Score

Mmesoma Ejikeme has finally admitted to scoring 249 in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The candidate who took the examination organised by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) was accused of forging her result after she paraded herself as the highest UTME scorer with a 362 total score.

Reacting to the accusation, Mmesoma who defended herself maintained that her result was printed from JAMB's portal and not forged as announced by the board.

However, JAMB's spokesman, Dr Fabian Benjamin on Tuesday, stated that after investigating the candidate's claim by scanning the QR code of the flaunted result, it was discovered the result belonged to one Asimiyu Mariam Omobolanle who took the examination in 2021 and scored 138.

The board further disclosed that the design of  Mmesoma's result notification slip was last used in 2021, revealing her original result.

JAMB also stated that the issue had nothing to do with its portal, maintaining that its system can never be hacked.

Following these revelations, JAMB announced that the candidate's 2023 result had been withdrawn and she has been barred from sitting for the examination for the next three years.

Appearing on Channels TV's Sunrise Daily with her father on Wednesday, Mmesoma admitted to garnering 249 in the 2023 UTME.

The candidate, however, maintained that she should not be blamed for the fuss, adding that slamming her with a three-year is not proper.

“It’s not my fault that I printed my result like that and they said that I forged my result. It’s not my fault. So, them banning it is not fair,” she said.

Mmesoma stated that she had sent an SMS to JAMB through its support system which she got no response from.

She maintained that she sent only one SMS to the support system against the JAMB's claim of receiving multiple messages from her.

“That’s the only SMS I sent there. They didn’t reply. If they check their JAMB Support System, they would see that I sent a text message. They didn’t reply.

“After all said and done, I now saw that I got 249. I sent them a text message there to know what happened — the JAMB Support System. If they go to their system, they will see it there,” she explained.
