Atletico and former Chelsea striker, Diego Costa will miss a reunion with the blues in the UEFA Champions League in February as the Spain international is set to leave the Rojiblancos in January.
AllNews understands that the Brazilian born striker has seen his minutes dropped with injury and the scoring form of summer striker Luis Suarez and Joao Felix.
Diego scored his first goal against Elche earlier in the month before the break.
He has spent 8 years at Atletico Madrid across three spells after returning to Spain capital club in 2018 after winning two premier league titles with Chelsea in 2014 and 2017.

With several reports claiming offers are coming from outside Europe, Costa might still want to be in Europe and playing in the Champions League.
Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Sevilla might also swoop in for the striker on a short-term deal but a clause in his contract might make Costa liable to a 23M euros fine if signs for any of the two Spanish giants.
His contract with Atleti still extends until the summer but the 32-year-old striker is reportedly poised to terminate his contract in the winter transfer which opens on January 1, 2021.
