January Transfer Live: Ozil Wants To Play In MLS Or Turkey

German midfielder Mesut Ozil has made his intentions known about where he will like to play before retiring from football. He fingers MLS or Turkey as his possible destination with his imminent move from Arsenal drawing ever closer.

Ozil 32, has spent over 7 seasons in Arsenal leaving Real Madrid in the summer of 2013 to the Emirate Stadium under Arsene Wenger's tenure at the club.

He was an integral part of the midfield position with 54 assists, 33 goals in 184 premier league appearances.

His agent stated last week that his future will become clearer in days and it seems it is indeed getting clearer when the German playmaker stated on Monday that he would like to play in the United States or Turkey (Fernarbache) before his retirement.

Fernarbache's president Ali Koc made an enthusiastic statement about the former Real Madrid man when he said, "There are issues between Mesut and Arsenal. We are closer than before.

"There is nothing finished. It may or may not end. It is in our hands to come out of the news as it is finished.

"The club knows what the coach wants and our transfer policy is guided by that.

"We speak when the signatures are signed. The news comes out until the signatures but we only talk after the signatures."

OLYMPIQUE LYONNAIS TO SIGN SLIMANI AS DEMBELE'S REPLACEMENT

Atleti are almost close to completing Moussa Dembele's loan deal with a little adjusting of no obligation to buy. Lyon has also identified their replacement for the French with Leicester City striker Islam Slimani.

Once the deal for Dembele is pulled through, Slimani was in Monaco on a season-long loan for 2019-20 season scoring 9 goals and 7 assists in 18 Ligue 1 appearances which gives him a good idea of the French league.

Slimani joined Leicester City in 2016 summer but his injury from the World Cup derailed his rise to full strength at Leicester.

Jamie Vardy's scoring form was also something of a hindrance to the Algeria international.

AC MILAN INQUIRY ABOUT FIKAYO TOMORI

If the deal collapse then Tomori will be the backup plan for the Rossoneri.
