Jigawa government tasks civil servants on punctuality

The Jigawa State Government has tasked workers to be punctual and remain dedicated to their duties following the resumption of the Eid-el-Fitr holiday.

The State Head of Civil Service, Alhaji Muhammad K. Dagaceri made the call on Friday when he paid an unscheduled visit to various Ministries, Departments and Agencies at the State Secretariat.

He said the visit was aimed at monitoring the resumption of workers after the public holiday earlier announced to allow civil servants to celebrate the 2024 Eid-el-Fitr.

Ismaila Ibrahim Dutse, the Public Relations Officer at the Office of the Head of the Civil Service made this available in a statement.

He explained that the Head of Service charged the Civil Servants in the State to reciprocate the good gesture done to them by Governor Umar Namadi.

The statement partly reads: "Alhaji Muhammad K. Dagaceri who visited offices at the State Secretariat noted that while some Civil Servants were in their offices ready for work others are yet to report to work after the three days Eid-el-Fitr Sallah celebration.

"He explained that punctuality and discipline are essential qualities of good Civil Servants. The Head of Service also urged the Workers to show greater commitment to their jobs for increased productivity."
