Jigawa Governor Shortlisted For National Award Honour

The Governor of Jigawa State, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has been shortlisted to receive the prestigious national award honour of the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) from President Muhammadu Buhari. 

This was disclosed in a statement on Sunday by the State's Commissioner for Special Duties, Auwal D. Sankara.

According to Sankara, the notable recognition serves as a testament to the governor's exceptional leadership and remarkable accomplishments in the state. 

He said under the Governor Badaru-led administration, the state has experienced significant growth and development across multiple sectors. 

Sankara added that the Governor's unwavering dedication to the welfare of the state's populace is evident in the implementation of numerous impactful policies and programs. 

"From education and healthcare to agriculture and infrastructure, his administration has left an indelible mark on the landscape of Jigawa State," Sankara added. 

He further explained that the CON award reflects Governor Badaru's outstanding contributions and tireless efforts in advancing the socio-economic well-being of the people of Jigawa State. 

He said throughout the governor's tenure, he has demonstrated exemplary dedication, integrity and selflessness in serving both the state and its citizens.

Governor Badaru expressed his appreciation for the nomination and acknowledgement of his endeavours by President Buhari.

He said the recognition not only brings personal honour to him but also validates the collective hard work and dedication of the entire government and the people of Jigawa State.

"Governor Badaru extends his heartfelt gratitude to the President for his continuous support and guidance, which has enabled him to carry out his responsibilities effectively. 

"He also extends his appreciation to the people of Jigawa State for their unwavering support and cooperation throughout his tenure.

"In addition, Governor Badaru commends the incoming Governor, Alhaji Umar Namadi, and expresses his confidence in his leadership abilities. 

"He is confident that under Alhaji Namadi's stewardship, Jigawa State will continue to thrive and progress toward greater heights," Sankara stated.
