Nigerian singer Joeboy recently shared an interesting tidbit about DJ Neptune’s 2020 chart-topping hit single ‘Nobody’, which features himself and Mr Eazi.
In a recent interview with media personality Chinasa Anukam, Joeboy revealed that while recording the song, he found himself repeatedly saying ‘nobody nobody’ because he was unsure of what else to say.
During the conversation, Joeboy expressed his genuine enjoyment in creating the song and discussed the spontaneous nature of its inception.
He recalled being in the middle of a photoshoot when DJ Neptune sent him the beat.
Intrigued by the music, Joeboy decided to abandon the photoshoot and he immediately headed to the studio, urging the producer, Oxygen Mix, to lay down the beat.
Inspired by the infectious rhythm, Joeboy began singing and improvising on the spot.
The ‘Focus’ singer further revealed that for many of his hit songs, he doesn’t necessarily sit down to write them.
“So I was having a photoshoot when DJ Neptune sent me the beat and I left the photoshoot and I’m like I’m not taking pictures again.
“And I went straight to the studio and I was like ‘Oxygen Mix, lay down this beat’ and he did. I started singing on it,
“Most of my big songs, I usually don’t have to sit down to write them. I was just really enjoying myself.
“The reason why I said ‘Nobody nobody’ was because I have nothing else to say,” he said.
