Jacobs whose health is deteriorating, has been absent from the movie and public scenes for several years.
His wife revealed to Chude Jideonwo that he was suffering from dementia.
According to her, it is a degenerative disease that affects his brain and personality.
The actor was unable to attend the honourary event due to the disease.
Joke Silva and her son, Jacobs jr., accepted the award on his behalf.
The veteran was honoured with a lifetime achievement award at the irep film festival in Lagos.
