The head coach of Arsenal, Mikel Arteta has expressed that new signing Jorginho will fit into his squad with ease despite hot takes of the midfielder not being suited for the club.
Jorginho switched from Chelsea to Arsenal on Deadline Day in a deal worth £12m to boost the Gunners' midfield ahead of a push for the Premier League title.
Arsenal decided to sign the 31-year-old after their two bids for Moises Caicedo in the final week of the January window were rejected by Brighton who remained adamant that the midfielder was not for sale.
The Italian midfielder who was into the final six months of his Chelsea contract signed an 18-month contract with Arsenal, with an option to extend for a further year.
Arteta, in his press conference, ahead of Arsenal's trip to Everton on Saturday lunchtime said: "We knew in this market you have to adapt and be flexible.
"You need great characters, leadership in positions.
"I don't think it was that late, but it was very close to the deadline."
He added: "His intelligence, his personality and leadership skill, he understands our way of playing.
"He fits really well with what I want to do.
"You have to adapt to the circumstances you have, and now we have improved the squad."
