Global shopping and online travel platform, Jumia Group, yesterday announced Diana Owusu-Kyereko as the Chief Executive Officer for its Ghanaian branch.
With the new development, Diana’s appointment confirms the claim that women control 40% of the company's leadership positions.
Announcing the appointment on Twitter, the group tweeted: "Congratulations Diana Owusu-Kyereko, for taking up the role of CEO in Jumia #Ghana. #WomenEmpowerment is one of Jumia's focus on bridging the gender gap in the workplace. #GenderEquality #GrowWithJumia #JumiaImpacts.”
Diana graduated from the University of Leeds where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in German and Social Sciences.
She started working as an underwriting intern for Allianz Reinsurance in Munich, Germany where she worked for 3years before she moved on to Wimdu.
Diana Owusu-Kyereko became the director of Mobile and Tablet for Jumia Africa and finally made it to the position of a CEO.
