JUST IN: Kaduna Announces Reopening of Schools

The Kaduna State Government has announced Sunday, September 12, 2021, as resumption date for schools across the state.

This was disclosed by the State Commissioner of Education, Dr Shehu Muhammad.

Shehu made the announcement on a virtual workshop organised by the Education Writers’ Association of Nigeria.

He announced that the resumption date for schools around the state for the 2021/2022 academic session is September 12.

He added that the state government has made necessary plans to complete the third term through online classes.

Schools had been closed for over a month due to the rising cases of kidnapping of students in the state.

Kaduna state is one of the North-Western states in Nigeria bedevilled by the menace of banditry.

Students of secondary and higher institutions have been abducted from their school in the state. 

The Nigerian Defense Academy (NDA) in Kaduna was also invade in the past month by bandits who also abducted a high ranking officer from the campus.
