Sheikh Gumi Says He's Found Solution To Nigeria’s Security

Northern Islamic scholar, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, says the unity and cooperation among all entities he observed at Ilesha town, Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State, is “the natural solution” to the security challenges Nigeria is currently faced with.

Gumi was guest at the Coronation of the Ardon Fulani of Baruten LGA, Kwara State, North-central Nigeria, on 4 September.

“Honestly speaking, I have been going round, trying to see where I can find solution to the issue of insecurity that is bedeviling this nation. I’ve gone to Zamfara, my home state. I am living in Kaduna. I’ve been to Niger State, I’ve been to Kebbi. I’ve been to Sokoto. I was looking for solution to this problem. But surprisingly, I found the solution right here in this your town - natural solution to the problem we are having,” Gumi said, amidst applause.

“What is the natural solution to the problem we are having? That is if we have cooperation, cooperation of the government, cooperation of the traditional societies, cooperation of tribal leaders, and the clergy. This problem we have, InShaaAllah (if Allah wills it), it will all disappear.”

Gumi commended Ilesha-Baruba residents for “embracing” the Fulani herders, urging every community in Nigeria to imitate them.
